PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device, light extraction efficiency of which is enhanced by simply providing a sub-mount, and which is also adaptable to a case where a large number of light-emitting elements are mounted collectively.SOLUTION: In a light-emitting device 1, a light-emitting element 3 is mounted on a sub-mount 4. The sub-mount 4 has a height t set to 0<t≤0.5 mm, and a mounting surface 4a is set so that the surface ratio to a bottom surface 3a of the light-emitting element 3 is 70% or less, and large enough to mount a pad on the bottom surface 3a of the light-emitting element 3. By using this sub-mount 4, light extraction efficiency can be enhanced by reflecting the light from the bottom surface 3a of the light-emitting element 3 widely on the surface of the substrate 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
