PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor handrail sterilizer capable of executing sterilization treatment for a handrail without causing corrosion to the handrail, and achieving energy conservation, suppression of an operation cost, and miniaturization of a device.SOLUTION: A passenger conveyor handrail sterilizer is a device for sterilizing an endless handrail that moves circularly in synchronization with steps of a passenger conveyor that includes high pressure water cleaning means for cleaning the surface of the handrail by injecting compressed water to the surface of the handrail, and deep ultraviolet light irradiation means for sterilizing the surface of the handrail by irradiating deep ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 260-320 nm to the surface of the handrail. The deep ultraviolet light irradiation means includes one or more deep-ultraviolet light-emitting diodes with an emission wavelength of 260-320 nm, and irradiates the deep ultraviolet light emitted from the deep-ultraviolet light-emitting diodes to the surface of the handrail.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11 |
