PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a sheet return member from piercing a sheet when a sheet cassette is pulled out of a device body in a state in which a tip end part of the sheet that has been pulled out of the sheet cassette is positioned on a lower stream side along transportation direction than a position of the sheet return member that protrudes into the transportation path.SOLUTION: Relating to a paper feeding transportation device 10 in which, interlocking with an operation of pulling a sheet cassette 2 out of a device body 1, a sheet return member 12 is made to protrude into a transportation path R and a sheet S in the transportation path is returned to the sheet cassette, when a sheet detection means 30 detects that a tip end part of the sheet in the transportation path is positioned on a lower stream side along transportation direction than a position of the sheet return member that protrudes into the transportation path, interlocking between the sheet return member and a pulling-out operation of the sheet cassette from the device body is released, thus the sheet return member is not made to protrude into the transportation path.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
