The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method of manufacturing a turbocharger whereby it is possible to quickly and easily form an abradable layer in a turbocharger. The method of manufacturing a turbocharger is a method of manufacturing a turbocharger comprising a turbine that is rotationally driven and a compressor having an impeller that rotates by the rotational force of the turbine and a housing (10) that houses the impeller, said method including a step of coating only a predetermined range of the surface of the housing (10) where the impeller and the housing (10) are opposed to each other with an abradable material that, when solidified, becomes an abradable layer (20).
