This punch processing method is a punch processing method in which a metal plate-shaped material (1a) is subjected successively to punch processing performed in a plurality of stages using a punch and a die. The method involves: using a first-stage punching process to form a first-stage punched surface (2) in the plate-shaped material (1a) and then using a second-stage punching process to form a second-stage punched surface (3) in the plate-shaped material (1a) by punching the plate-shaped material (1a) in such a way that said punching intersects the first-stage punched surface (2), and forming matching portions (5) in the locations in which the first-stage punched surface (2) and the second-stage punched surface (3) in the plate-shaped material (1a) intersect. After the first-stage punching process and prior to the second-stage punching process, the plate-shaped material (1a) is subjected to a crushing processes in which matching portion forming locations (5a) in the plate-shaped material (1a), where the matching portions (5) are to be formed, are sandwiched from a top surface TS side and a back surface BS side of the plate-shaped material 1a. In this way it is possible to effectively suppress the generation of burrs in the matching portions that are formed in the subsequent second-stage punching process.
