An iron-based projectile material to be used in order to blast-clean the surface of a casting product by blasting, wherein the particle diameter d of the projectile material is 0.85mm<d≤2.36mm, the Vickers hardness (JIS Z 2244) is in the range of HV300-600, the distribution of the projectile material particle diameter d is such that a frequency distribution (JIS G 5904) exhibits a maximum frequency for the frequency of the particle diameter interval 1.18mm<d≤1.40mm, the frequency of the particle diameter interval 1.70mm<d≤2.00mm is 0.6-0.8 times said frequency, and the frequency of the particle diameter interval 1.40mm<d≤1.70mm is 0.3-0.6 times said frequency. |
