PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique useful for providing various different types of applications with different versions.SOLUTION: A content providing system 100 includes a content server 20 and a terminal 10, and provides a plurality of added contents including a first content 31 and a second content 32 used in applications, from the content server 20 to the terminal 10. The terminal 10 sends acquisition information to the content server 20 if one of the first content 31 and the second content 32 has been acquired, and sends non-acquisition information to the content server 20 if none of the first content 31 and the second content 32 has been acquired. The content server 20 performs accounting and provides an added content specified by the terminal 10 to the terminal 10 if the server has received the acquisition information, and provides one of the first content 31 and the second content 32 which is specified by the terminal 10 to the terminal 10 without performing accounting if the server has received the non-acquisition information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
