A lubricant composition useful for internal combustion engines such as diesel and gasoline engines, which is excellent in heat resistance and low-temperature fluidity and comprises a hydrocarbon oil as the base oil and, added thereto, an oil-soluble normal metal salt of an alkylsalicylic acid (comprising a C30 or lower alkyl) in an amount of at least 2.2 x 10<-3> mol/l in terms of metal content and at least either an oil-soluble sulfurized alkylphenol compound or an oil-soluble sulfurized hindered phenol compound in an amount of at least 0.2 wt%. |
