PURPOSE:To realize highly reliable high speed delivery while maintaining constant the volume of droplet by imparting thermal energy, corresponding to a recording signal, to a normally solid recording medium to produce a bubble and then delivering the bubble to be communicated with the outer air at the time of recording thereby growing a large bubble even for a normally solid recording medium. CONSTITUTION:After feeding a current to a heating means 24 to dissolve and liquefy a normally solid recording medium 3, a current is fed instantaneously to a heater 2 in order to pulsatively heat a medium 3 disposed closely to the heater 2. Consequently, the medium 3 is boiled abruptly to produce a bubble 6 vigorously and the bubble 6 begins to expand. The bubble 6 expands continuously and especially grows toward a delivery port 5 having low inertia and the medium 3 located closer to the delivery port 5 than the bubble 6 flies forward with a motion amount imparted by the bubble 6 and then flies, in the form of a small independent droplet 7, to a material to be recorded, e.g. a paper. After the medium 3 flied out, an air gap at the tip of a nozzle 15 is filled with a new medium 3 through surface tension of the medium 3 in the rear and the leakage through nozzle wall and thereby a state prevailing before delivery of bubble is recovered. |
