PURIFICATION OF SASA ALBOMARGINATA EXTRACT AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To save labor by automatizing total processes and to obtain the subject product having uniform quality by depositing silica from an alkaline- extracted liquid of Sasa albomarginata by heating after neutralization following circulation of the extract through an ion exchanger column. CONSTITUTION:At first, a raw liquid 1 of pH3 consisting of an alkaline- extracted liquid of Sasa albomarginata containing silica (silicic acid) is supplied by a pump 2 from a storage tank to a neutralizing tank 6 equipped with a heating jacket through a supplying pipe equipped with a flow meter 3 and a valve 4. Then, the raw liquid 1 is sent by a circulating pump 12 from the tank 6 to an ion exchanger column 14 and neutralized to a given pH by circulating it through the ion exchanger column 14. The neutralized raw liquid 5-1 is heated in the tank 6 under uniform agitation by a stirrer 8 to deposit silica. The neutralized liquid 5-2 having deposited silica is filtered by a filter 17 to solid-liquid separate the purified liquid 18 and silica 19.
