A display device driving circuit is provided to prevent flickers of moving pictures by preventing a brightness variation of an overall image while displaying moving pictures. A display device driving circuit(101) includes first and second controllers(107,108) and a generator(109). The first controller changes brightness of a displayed image based on display data values at a predetermined position of histogram of input display data. The first controller changes brightness of a backlight based on the display data value. The histogram has zero to N-th data ranges. The second controller performs a backlight brightness control process different from the first controller. The generator sets a brightness ratio of the backlight control signal to the maximum brightness of the backlight, to a backlight control signal value corresponding to a multiplication of first and second brightness ratios. The first brightness ratio corresponds to the maximum brightness of the backlight control signal from the first controller. The second brightness ratio corresponds to the maximum brightness of the backlight control signal from the second controller. |
