<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery with improved cycle characteristics and preservation characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The battery includes a cathode 21, an anode 22, and electrolyte solution impregnated in a separator 23 fitted between the cathode 21 and the anode 22. An anode active material of the anode 22 contains hardly graphitizable carbon with an interval of (002) face of ≥0.37 nm as measured in an X-ray diffraction method. A solvent of the electrolyte solution contains difluoroethylene carbonate such as 4,5-difluoro-1,3-dioxolane-2-on. As compared with the case in which the anode active material contains other carbon materials such as graphite, or the solvent contains other halogenated ethylene carbonate such as 4-fluoro-1,3-dioxolane-2-on, the anode 22 is improved in an acceptance property of lithium, and at the same time, decomposition of the electrolyte solution is restrained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
