PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot plate for hot drawing of a synthetic fiber, on the surface of which a groove is hardly formed, and without requiring the exchange thereof for a long time by forming a hard carbon membrane on the surface thereof. SOLUTION: A hard carbon membrane 16 having about 1-5μm thickness is formed on the surface of a hot plate. The carbon membrane is a hydrogenated amorphous carbon membrane and has nearly 4,000Hv Vickers hardness and about 0.1 friction coefficient. An interlayer (e.g. TiC and TiS) can be formed to improve the adhesion between the hot plate and the hard carbon membrane.
