<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate work for removing paper jamming in a fixing device and then to contribute to the reduction of cost of the device. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with: a paper conveyance path 111 for conveying paper P on which a toner image is formed in a vertical direction toward the fixing device 20; an openable/closable cover body 19 covering over the paper conveyance path 111 and the fixing device 20; and a state changing mechanism 50 changing a state of a pressure roller 40 between a release state T2 and a pressure state T1 interlocked with the opening/closing operation of the cover body 19. The state changing mechanism 50 has a coil spring 53 disposed to energize the pressure roller 40 toward the fixing roller 30 when the pressure roller 40 is set to the pressure state T1, and to weak energizing force of the pressure roller 40 to the fixing roller 30 when the pressure roller 40 is set to the release state T2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
