Paper stack staple binder

The wire stitcher, to staple a stack of sheets, has a wire transport mechanism (13,14) operated by a reversible step motor (5), controlled by a unit to measure the length of wire required to staple the thickness of the stack. The step motor (5) is only coupled to the wire transport mechanism (13,14) in the direction (C) of wire advance. The step motor (5) is constantly engaged with a control cam unit (6) for an advance movement of the wire cutter (4). The control cam unit (6) has cam sections (6a,6b) to give the different thicknesses of the stacks of paper sheets.
