PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device, capable of constituting various detecting systems inexpensively. SOLUTION: An image-recording device is provided with an optical writing system and a synchronous detecting system. The optical writing system effects the writing scanning of a light image to a light sensitive body 7 by a method wherein a light beam, irradiated from a semiconductor laser 1 is polarized by a polygon mirror 4 and is scanned into a main scanning direction with a predetermined writing period while a light sensitive body 7 which moves in a sub scanning direction substantially orthogonal to the main scanning direction, is scanned by the polarized light beam. The synchronous detecting system is provided with a synchronous sensor 11, detecting synchronous light at every one period of the writing period of the optical writing system and generating a positional signal becoming the reference of writing starting position of the main scanning direction. In this case, the semiconductor laser 1 and the synchronous sensor 11 are employed for the light source or the sensor in a detecting system having different usage by a common detecting system constituted of a prism lens 12, projecting a part of light outside of the effective scanning area of the light beam polarized by the polygon mirror 4 with a timing different from the timing of incidence of the synchronous light into the synchronous sensor 11 as the detecting light, and an actuator 13, opening and closing the light passage of the detecting light. |
