An image forming device comprises a develop roller (1) for carrying toner (4), a print head (10) including insulating film (11) provided with small holes (12) and image signal electrodes (13), print paper (6), a back electrode (5), a vacuum pump (16), and a switch valve (15) for selectively allow the vacuum pump (16) to communicate with the small holes (12) in the print head (10). The vacuum pump (16) produces a negative pressure beforehand, and a more negative pressure is then applied to the small holes (12) through the switch valve (15).
