PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing mononitrotoluene, by which waste sulfuric acid can be concentrated at a low cost and then recycled to the nitration reaction without accumulating organic by-products in the concentrated sulfuric acid. SOLUTION: This method for continuously producing the mononitrotoluene at a constant temperature, containing concentrating the resulting waste sulfuric acid and then recycling the concentrated waste sulfuric acid to the process.
