<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device which can vary the potentials of wiring structures while averting the load on driving of a current source. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device is equipped with pixel circuits 1 which are arranged in a plurality, scanning lines 2 and signal lines 3 which supply the prescribed potentials to the pixel circuits 1, the wiring structures 4 which supply currents to the current light emitting elements arranged within the pixel circuits 1, and potential control sections 5 which control the potentials of the wiring structures 4. Further, the device is equipped with switching sections 6 which are arranged between the wiring structures 4 and the potential control sections 5 and control the electrical connection states between the wiring structures 4 and the potential control sections 5, a scanning line driving circuit 7 which is electrically connected to to the scanning lines 2 and a signal line driving circuit 8 which is connected to to the signal lines 3. When varying the potentials of the wiring structures 4, the image display device holds the switching sections 6 in an off state to accumulate the currents still flowing in the organic EL elements 12 after the light emission process in the wiring structures 4, thereby varying the potentials of the wiring structures 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
