PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a footrest step for a seat which exhibits a high degree of convenience. SOLUTION: An upper link 23 and a lower link 24 are pivoted by a side wall 22 of a footrest 21. The upper link 23 and the lower link 24 are also pivoted by a bracket 31 on the seat side. A parallel link mechanism 41 for supporting the footrest 21 in a vertically movable way is composed of the footrest 21, both of the links 23 and 24 and the bracket 31 on the seat side. The bracket 31 on the seat side is provided with a driving motor 52 and output from the driving motor 52 is transmitted to a third reduction gear 57 through a first reduction gear 54 and a second reduction gear 56. A turning axis 61 of the third reduction gear 57 is set as the turning axis of the lower link 24. The third reduction gear 57 is provided with a driving pin 62 on its external side so that the driving pin 62 can abut on the lower link 24 from underneath. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
