PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope which can be constituted by easily adding a desired observation function to a basic-constituted microscope. SOLUTION: By loading an illumination observation unit 10 which is separately prepared and which has an illumination optical system for emitting illuminating light of an UV light region and an observation optical system for observing a sample image with the UV light to the basic-constituted microscope main body 1 where the sample 3 is observed with the light emitted from the visible light light source 5 of a light projection tube 4, the sample can be observed with the illuminating light of the UV light region emitted from the illumination observation unit 10.
