PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pilot solenoid valve capable of reducing water hammer and valve element closing impact by valve opening/closing or closing without disadvantage in aspects of clogging, minimum operating differential pressure, operating stability, main passage stream, electric system, outer size, and valve opening/closing time. SOLUTION: The valve comprises: a communication chamber 1 for allowing a bleed hole 3a and pilot hole 3b to communicate with each other; an orifice 1a for allowing the communication chamber 1 and valve chest 3 to communicate with each other; a valve 2 for throttling the orifice 1a; a groove 2b located in a closing face 2a of the valve 2; and a helical compression spring 12 which prevents the valve 2 from being closed by a force of differential pressure or having a maximum force less than the differential pressure of the valve 2. The effective cross-section area of the orifice 1a less than the area of the bleed hole in throttling is increased to that of the pilot hole 3b or more by opening the valve 2 by a pushing action produced by a reciprocation of valve element 4 or a force of differential pressure.
