PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress that the generated amount of particulate matters is increased when a main fuel injection and an auxiliary fuel injection are performed in one cycle of combustion of an internal combustion engine in a fuel injection system of the internal combustion engine having a fuel injection valve for directly injecting a fuel supplied therein through a pressure accumulating chamber into a cylinder. SOLUTION: When an interval between the auxiliary fuel injection and the main fuel injection is equal to or less than a predetermined period, the correction of an increase in the injected amount of a main fuel based on the pulsation of pressure in the pressure accumulating chamber caused by the auxiliary fuel injection is prohibited.
