SOLUTION: In the combustion camber structure for an engine 1 forming a combustion chamber 4 between a lower surface of a cylinder head 2 and a upper surface of a piston 3 and a squish area 5 adjoining the combustion chamber 4, a projection part 12 is provided on a cylinder head 2 lower surface (or a piston 3 upper surface) in the squish area 4 and a depressed part 13 opposing to the projection part 12 is provided on the piston 3 upper surface (or the cylinder head 2 lower surface) in the squish area 5.
