PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and rigid joining structure for a bearing cap structure body on a cylinder block applicable to a double link type internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: The joining structure is provided with a bearing housing 40 for a main journal on a mating surface of the cylinder block 20 and a bearing cap structure body composed of a ladder frame 30 or a bearing cap 50 fastened by a pair of joining means. At least one of the pair of joining means is composed of a stepped hole 23 provided in the cylinder block 20, a screw hole provided in the cap structure body with continuing to the stepped hole 23, and a fastening bolt 44 inserted in the stepped hole 23 from an upper deck side, having a head part 44A engaged with a stepped part 23C of the stepped hole 23 and having a screw part 44C provided on the shaft part 44B screwed with the screw hole 51 provided on the cap structure body, and having a tip projected out of the screw hole 51.
