<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system which eliminates the need for providing an evaporator or a selective oxidation part in a hydrogen manufacturing apparatus and obtains size reduction, high efficiency and cost reduction, as well as stable operation. <P>SOLUTION: The hydrogen manufacturing apparatus 4 is provided with a reforming part 1 generating reformed gas from hydrocarbon material by steam reforming reaction, a combustion part 2 for heating the reforming part 1 and a transformation part 3 for reducing the carbon monoxide from the reformed gas generated in the reforming part 1 through CO conversion reaction. The reformed gas, with the reduced carbon monoxide, is supplied from the hydrogen manufacturing apparatus 4, and power generation is carried out with the reformed gas in a fuel cell 5. The fuel cell 5 is formed of polymer electrolyte fuel cell, generating heat of 100 to 200°C by the heat of reaction, when power is generated. The steam for making the steam reforming reaction carry out with the hydrocarbon material is generated, by feeding water from a water supplying part 6 to the fuel cell 5 and evaporating it with the generated heat, and then, the steam is mixed with the hydrocarbon material and supplied to the reforming part 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
