PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator-freezer capable of acquiring an accurate operation state of an opening and closing control valve over a long period, and keeping a cold air intake port and a cold air return port clean. SOLUTION: The refrigerator-freezer comprises an upper freezing chamber 5 and a lower vegetable chamber 7 vertically independently partitioned by at least a partition wall 11; an outlet port 35 for blowing cold air heat-exchanged in a cooler 27 into the freezing chamber 5; a cold air passage duct face 43 provided along the lower surface of the partition wall 11 that forms the ceiling surface of the vegetable chamber 7 with a duct surface 43a working as a cooling surface; the cold air intake port 47 for taking the cold air in the freezing chamber 5 and the cold air return port for returning it to the cooler 27, which are provided on the deeper side located on the rear of the cold air passage duct 43; and the openable and closable opening and closing control valve 53 provided on either of the cold air intake port 47 and the cold air return port 49.
