<p>A period adjusting unit provided on a memory board shortens a refresh period (T1) of a refresh demand generating unit to a refresh period (T2) and makes a patrol control unit intensively carry out an error patrol at an error occurrence address with a period (T3) that is slightly longer than the refresh period (T2) subjected to change when an ECC circuit detects a single error in data. In the case that no error is detected for a predetermined period of time or more from the start of the error patrol, the error patrol is stopped. Further, if no single error is detected for a predetermined period of time or more from the stop of the error patrol, the shortened refresh period is released and returns back to the initial.</p> |
