PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joining apparatus that can suppress lowering of productivity. SOLUTION: An upper electrode 79 in the joining apparatus 71 is equipped with an annular edge 79b at the tip end and is arranged in a manner that the center axis line L2 of the upper electrode 79 going through the center of the edge 79b is made to incline to the upper face 82a of a lower electrode 82 where a plate material 61 is disposed. Also, in the joining apparatus 71, there are a holding member rotating mechanism 78 that rotates in the circumferential direction a holding member 77 for holding the upper electrode 79, and an upper electrode rotating mechanism 81 that rotates the upper electrode 79 around its center axis line L2. With these mechanisms, the upper electrode 79 is moved relative to the plate material 61 so that the edge 79b is brought in successive contact with each of the plurality of first outer peripheral terminals 34 along their arrayed direction. Then, a controller, when the edge 79b comes in contact with the first outer peripheral terminals 34, controls an energizing part to supply the current between the upper and lower electrodes 79, 82.
