<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase corrosion resistance of an iron-base rare earth permanent magnet. <P>SOLUTION: The iron-based rare earth permanent magnet is formed of nanocrystal whose mean particle diameter is 300 nm or smaller in its hard magnetic phase. Its composition formula is expressed as (Fe<SB>1-n</SB>Co<SB>n</SB>)<SB>100-x-y-z-k-l-m</SB>Ni<SB>k</SB>Q<SB>x</SB>R<SB>y</SB>Cr<SB>z</SB>Ti<SB>l</SB>M<SB>m</SB>(Q is an element which is selected from a group composed of B and C; R is at least one type of rare-earth element; M is at least one type of element which is selected from a group composed of Zr, Mo, Cu, Zn, Sn, Pb, In, Nb, Hf, Ta and W). The composition ratios x, y, z, k, l, m and n satisfy relations of: 4≤x≤14 atomic%, 5≤y≤9 atomic%, 4≤z≤10 atomic%, 0.5≤k≤5 atomic%, 3.5≤l≤8 atomic%, 0≤m≤5 atomic% and 0≤n≤1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
