PURPOSE: A damper is provided to improve the response performance and to reduce the movement of a control valve when converting the braking direction. CONSTITUTION: A damper is composed of a housing, a rotor(30), a viscous fluid, a control valve(50), and a flow passage expansion unit(54). The rotor has a rotor body(90). A blade piece(120) is formed in the rotor body. The viscous fluid is filled in the housing. The control valve is arranged between the housing and rotor body. The control valve comprises a front wall(51), a rear wall, and an opening(53). The control valve closes an opening/closing flow passage(130) in which the viscous fluid passes in one-way forward rotation of the rotor. The control valve opens the opening/closing flow passage in backward rotation of the rotor. The flow passage expansion unit is formed between the rotor body and the front wall. The flow passage expansion unit expands the outlet of the viscous fluid passing the opening/closing flow passage.
