PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slope elevator capable of preventing the safety and the riding comfort of an occupant in a vehicle from being impaired even when the slope elevator travels along a rail with the changing angle of inclination. SOLUTION: The slope elevator detects the present traveling position by a traveling position detection unit, and a control unit allows an upper car to maintain a substantially horizontal condition and to travel the slope elevator by tilting the upper car with respect to a lower car by a tilting means based on the angle information according to the detected traveling position. As a result, the slope elevator travels on a monorail while preventing the safety and the riding comfort of an occupant in an upper car even when the slope elevator travels along a rail with the changing angle of inclination.
