The present invention relates to a structural member and a manufacturing method thereof. The manufacturing method of the structural member comprises: a step of preparing a blank with a first part and a second part with different thicknesses; and a step of forming the structural member of a predetermined shape with the blank. The second part of the blank thicker than the first part is formed by folding and overlapping a part of a material. According to the present invention, the structural member having the two parts with solidity different from each other is able to be manufactured without an expensive equipment; thereby manufacturing costs being able to remarkably be reduced. Accordingly, an effect of improving product competitiveness is obtained. |
