Provided is an optical fiber tape core wire capable of achieving both mid-span branching and cable manufacturability. The optical fiber tape core wire (1) has at least three optical fibers (2) arranged in parallel; adjacent optical fibers (2) are connected by coupling sections (3); and the coupling sections (3) are provided intermittently along both the tape core wire longitudinal direction (X) and the tape core wire width direction (Y). Mid-span branching and cable manufacturability can both be achieved in this optical fiber tape core wire (1), by setting the tear strength of the coupling sections (3) in the range of 1.50-21.0 gf.
