PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel construction method which can construct a tunnel at high quality by properly grasping the displacement of a rock mass, and a displacement measuring device.SOLUTION: A tunnel construction method comprises: an upper-half excavation process for excavating a tunnel upper half 11; a measuring device installation process for installing a displacement measuring device 6 at a bottom of a tunnel 1 from the tunnel upper half 11; a lower half excavation process for excavating a tunnel lower half 12 while confirming rock mass displacement by the displacement measuring device 6; an invert excavation process for excavating an invert part 13 while confirming the rock mass displacement by the displacement measuring device 6; and an invert placing process for placing invert concrete into the invert part 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
