An automatic background sound connection apparatus and method, and a background sound providing server are provided to remove the user inconvenience of manipulating a key whenever a background sound needs to be provided. An MSCo(originating Mobile Switching Center)(110a) and an MSCt(terminating MSC)(110b) process signals received by or originated from a mobile phone base station, and adjust the mobile phone base station. An HLR(Home Location Register)(120) manages subscriber information, activates a background sound service according to a request of an MSo(originating Mobile Station)(105a), transmits the activation result to the MSCo, and provides path information to a BMS(Background sound Mixing System) to the MSCo. A background sound providing server(140) stores information about an origination subscriber and a termination member of a background sound service and provides the path information to the BMS to the HLR according to a request of the HLR. When the MSCo establishes a call by using the path information received from the HLR according to activation of the background sound service, the background sound providing server is connected to the MSCo to establish a call with the MSo, and automatically mixes a previously designated background sound in a voice message transmitted/received between the MSCo and the MSCt. A TIIS G/W(130) interworks with the HLR and a BSR(Background sound Subscriber Register) through a TIP/IP, and directly provides a subscriber with a service through the wired/wireless Internet.
