PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate capable of improving a side face contrast ratio and a side face viewing angle, enhancing luminance uniformity and decreasing a change rate of the luminance uniformity.SOLUTION: The polarizing plate includes a polarizer 10 and a pattern layer 20 formed on one surface of the polarizer, including a high refractive index layer 202 having at least one engraved pattern 207 and a low refractive index layer 201 having a filling pattern 205 that fills at least a part of the engraved pattern 207. The polarizing plate further includes a first protective layer 30. A polarizing plate 100 has a structure where the polarizer 10, the low refractive index layer 201, the high refractive index layer 202 and a first protective layer 30 are successively stacked, or the polarizer 10, the first protective layer 30, the low refractive index layer 201 and the high refractive index layer 202 are successively stacked. The first protective layer 30 includes a base film formed of at least one of triacetyl cellulose (TAC), polyethylene terephthalate, a cyclic olefin polymer (COP), and an acrylic resin.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
