Crowd based bonus and promotional system and method

A bonus and/or promotion system, such as for a casino or other retail location, includes one or more sensors for detecting the presence of one or more persons at a location and a bonus or promotion generator configured to generate and output bonuses or promotions based upon detected levels of persons in an area. The bonus or promotion generator may provide an output to existing audio and/or visual display devices of the location for announcing bonuses or promotions.

1. A method of providing a bonus or promotion comprising:
providing at least one sensor configured to detect the presence of at least one person in a first area of a plurality of areas at a location; transmitting an output of the at least one sensor through a network to a bonus or promotional generator comprising at least one server that includes non-transitory machine readable instructions for generating a bonus or promotion and a database that includes bonus or promotion configuration data; generating at the server at least one bonus or promotion utilizing said output of said at least one sensor transmitted to the server via the network and the bonus or promotion configuration data, the at least one bonus or promotion being dependent upon a number of persons detected in the first area; and transmitting from the server via the network information regarding said bonus or promotion to at least one display device located in the first area, the bonus or promotion being redeemable in a second area of the plurality of areas at the location.
