<p>A sofa bed wherein comfortability during sleeping can be improved in a bed mode and backrests can be stored and kept out of way in a sofa mode. Movable backrests of a sofa bed (10) are divided in to right and left two movable backrest half-portions (20 and 22). The respective movable backrest half-portions are moved between a first position substantially upwardly of both boards (16 and 18) and a second position almost in parallel to the center line extending along the longitudinal direction of the sofa bed, so that the sofa bed can be switched between the bed mode and the sofa mode. <IMAGE></p>
