The engine has three inlet valves (1,1',1'') and at least one exhaust valve (2) for each cylinder, a coaxial ignition plug (3), a fuel injection valve (4) and a piston (5). The inlet channels for the inlet valves run separately, so that the two side inlet valves (1,1'') admit fresh air to the cylinder separately from the middle valve (1'). The fuel injection valve injects between one side inlet valve and the middle valve. The piston has two combustion chamber depressions (6,6') offset from the center line (M). |
