The invention relates to a honing or precision tool having a honing or precision ring (1) with abrasive particles and a working ring section (2) that is profiled like a toothed wheel. Furthermore, for particularly advantageous use, the inventive tool is configured with a preferably steel supporting ring (6) having a section (7) for clamping the honing or precision tool onto a drive unit. This supporting ring (6) bears the honing or precision ring (1). There is a positive allowance of lateral yielding of the working ring section (2) in relation to the clamping section (7) along the rotational axis of the tool.
