CYLINDER DISCRIMINATING METHOD FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder discriminating method and a cylinder discriminating device which can cope with fluctuation of output values caused by temperature characteristics of a sensor, and variation of output values caused by deterioration. SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine is started, and inner cylinder pressures P#1 to P#4 in cylinders #1 to #4 are independently sensed (step S22). The inner pressures P#1 to P#4 are compared to a specified reference value Pcylm-1, for discriminating specified one or plural cylinders (steps S22 to S30). A reference value Pcylm is newly calculated by the use of the sensed inner pressure P#xi (step S32). The newly calculated reference value Pcylm is useds for discriminating the cylinder when the internal combustion engine is started next.
