<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet rotary electric machine of small size, low loss, and low cost, which uses no large semiconductor, with no limitation on controllable rotational number due to armature coil current phase even if the number of rotation drops. <P>SOLUTION: The permanent magnet rotary electric machine comprises a stator 2 comprising an armature coil group 3a, a rotor 4 comprising a field pole of a permanent magnet 5, a control coil group 6 having the number of winding turns larger than that of the armature coil group 3a wound on a stator teeth or a stator yoke, and a control circuit 7 for controlling the current applied to the control coil group 6.
