<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for searching for a molecule or a drug activating an IRE1/XBP1 pathway without applying an endoplasmic reticulum stress. <P>SOLUTION: A transgenic cell or a nonhuman transgenic animal in which (a) an expression vector containing a fusion gene of an XBP1 gene to a gene encoding a first reporter protein and arranged so as to express a fusion protein of an XBP1 protein to the first reporter protein only when the XBP1 gene receives splicing and (b) an expression vector containing a fusion gene of an ATF4 gene to a gene which encodes a second reporter protein and is arranged on the downstream side of a true translation initiation point of the ATF4 gene are cotransferred is provided. The presence or absence of the endoplasmic reticulum stress can be confirmed for a substance causing activation of the IRE1/XBP1 pathway or a PERK/ATF4 pathway by using the transgenic cell or the nonhuman transgenic animal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
