PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially and inexpensively producing an organometallic compound. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the organometallic compound, it is repeated that a trialkylaluminum is reacted with a metal halide to provide the organometallic compound and the trialkylaluminum is regenerated from the reaction products containing a dialkylaluminum halide which is the above by-product and the regenerated trialkylaluminum is again reacted with the metal halide to provide the organometallic compound.
