PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an escalator control device capable of reducing the cost. SOLUTION: The escalator control device 20 for controlling the operation of a motor 10 is connected to the motor 10. A commercial power supply 22 is connected to the escalator control device 20. The escalator control device 20 includes a speed control device 25 having an inverter, a DOWN contactor 26 which is turned ON only when treads are in a downward operation, and an UP contactor 27 which is turned ON only when the treads are in an upward operation. The speed control device 25 is interposed between the motor 10 and the commercial power supply 22 only in a downward operation which is mainly in use. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
