PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing a formed fiber material to keep the characteristic durability, flexibility, air permeability and soundproofness of steric fiber layer and enabling free adjustment of the partial density and hardness of a cushioning material and provide a formed fiber material. SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for producing a formed fiber material is provided with a forming apparatus 10 to regularly and longitudinally fold a card web supplied from a carding machine 2 and obtain a steric fiber layer, a cloth-layer 20 to laterally reciprocate the card web transported from the carding machine 3, a floor conveyor 23 to fold the card web delivered from the cloth-layer 20 in a zigzag state to form a laminated sheet and transport the laminated sheet to the upper surface of the steric fiber layer, a roller 4 placed under the steric fiber layer and supporting the fiber sheet, and a transfer conveyor 30 to transfer the fiber sheet delivered from the roller 4 to the lower face of the steric fiber layer.
