A wind turbine having C shaped blades extended along the horizontal axis is provided to minimize damages on blades in a gust of wind or high winds by having a wind detection plate linked to a plate which is able to rotate blades to face the wind direction and to move blades of a turbine in low winds by ribs provided on inner surface of a C shaped blade. A wind turbine having C shaped blades includes a support structure(110), a unit composed of blades and related parts(130), a power generation unit(150), a device for turning blades to face the wind direction(170), and a device for detecting strong wind(190). The support has a cylindrical support frame(111) having a roller(117), legs(113), and a rotary disc(115). The unit composed of blades and related parts has journal bearing shells(131), a horizontal shaft(133) and blades. Ribs(137) are placed on inner surface of the blades for reinforcement and for providing more useful work even in low winds or raindrops collected in a C shaped blade. The power generation unit, which generates electricity as blades are turning, has a generator(151) and a stopper(153). The electricity generated by the generator is stored in a battery(157) located at the lower part of the support frame. A device for turning blades, which is installed on a side of the unit composed of blades and related parts, has a plate(171), columns and a journal bearing shell, and a shaft. One end of the shaft for facing blades to wind has a gear(177). |
