An automatic adjusting apparatus for a head rest is provided to protect a neck of a driver by adjusting height and distance of the head rest freely and adjusting the position of the head rest by an electronic control position memory device and positioning the head rest at the optimal position always. An automatic adjusting apparatus for a head rest comprises: a guide rod(25) inserted into a back support(11) of an automobile seat(10) for adjusting a height of a head rest(20). The head rest includes a movable body(21) and a fixed body(22). The movable body moves back and forth according to operation of a solenoid whose actuator is combined with the movable body. The lower end of the guide rod is combined with the back support in sliding type. A thread rod(14) is screwed to a nut(26) fixed to the middle of a lift(27). The lower end of the thread rod is coupled to the rotation shaft of a geared motor(13). Upper/lower and front/rear position sensors are mounted on the lift and the actuator. The upper/lower and front/rear position sensors, the geared motor and the solenoid are driven by a controller. |
