PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a howling canceller capable of adaptively cancelling howling even in an environment in which plural frequencies howl.SOLUTION: Units of adaptive notch filters which serve as adaptive notch filters in an environment, in which plural frequencies howl, are connected in multi stages and integrated to obtain a multistage adaptive notch filter. The filter coefficient of the multistage adaptive notch filter is adaptively updated to converge to a filter coefficient to cancel the howling frequencies, which allows for canceling of the howling.
